Hotel Review: Park Plaza, Jodhpur

Jodhpur, the blue city of Rajasthan, is famous for its various tourist attractions. Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Ummed Bhawan Palace, Mandore Place are to name a few.

The city is well connected by road, train & air with various cities of India. No surprise that so many people are visiting this beautiful city every year. Jodhpur is also termed as entry gate for western Rajasthan & sand dunes of Thar dessert.

The city has many hotels to address various budget needs, i.e. star luxury hotels to budget stays. Hotel Park Plaza is one of the luxury hotels of Jodhpur. It is located very close to Jodhpur Airport (5 mins drive) as well as Jodhpur Railway Station (10 mins drive). Hotel is also just 5 mins drive from Ummed Bhawan Palace. The hotel is part of Radisson Group of Hotels.

Room:

The hotel has 65 rooms, spread across various categories. The rooms are situated in old wing & the new wing. Rooms in new wings have better interiors. Each room is very spacious with quite large window. Rooms are well insulated to minimize the noise from outside. Bathroom is also well designed. While old wing rooms are equipped with bathtubs, new wing rooms have nice shower area. (Personally, I am not a big fan of Bath tubs in Hotel rooms).

The bed is large enough for a family of 2 adults & 2 kids. Linen was soft & cozy. Room is also furnished with a comfortable couch, working table & chair and a large closet. The mini bar is stocked with local Rajasthani Namkeens (Savoury snacks), juices & soft drinks. Tea-coffee maker is also provided with supplies of good quality. HDTV is functioning with sufficient choice of channels.

Food:

The food options in Rajasthan is unlimited & amazing. This hotel is also no different. Their restaurant serves amazing food. Few of the dishes are worth coming again & again. My favourite is Corn Bhel, which is prepared with boiled corns, puffed rice & variety of other condiments. The buffet breakfast is also well spread with local, Indian & continental dishes. The hotel is also having a well stocked & well priced bar at the ground floor.

Services & other facilities:

The hospital staff is very well behaved & their hospitality is awesome. Right from check-in till check-out, one can expect high level of professional attitude from them. The room service & housekeeping is quite prompt.

The hotel has ample parking area. There is a large swimming pool also at the ground floor. The surrounding area of swimming pool is converted into an open air restaurant in the evenings. It is a great experience to have the dinner here.

Summary:

Overall, it is one of the best luxury hotels of Jodhpur. Its proximity to Airport & railway station is an added advantage. As it is located away from rush of markets, one can spent good time here. At this budget, hotel is indeed value for money.
