भारत की सबसे ऊंची मीनार : फ़तेह बुर्ज, मोहाली, पंजाब

क्या आप जानते हैं कि भारत की सबसे ऊंची मीनार कहाँ है ?

फ़तेह बुर्ज, जो भारत की सबसे ऊंची मीनार है, पंजाब में मोहाली के पास स्थित ऐतिहासिक गाँव चप्पड़ चिड़ी में स्थित है। यह बुर्ज चंडीगढ़ से लगभग 15 किलोमीटर,  मोहाली बस स्टैंड से 7 किलोमीटर और ऐतिहासिक शहर सरहिंद से 32 किलोमीटर दूर है।  

चप्पड़ चिड़ी गाँव मुग़लों और सिखों के ऐतिहासिक सरहिंद युद्ध का केंद्र था। इस युद्ध में 12 मई 1710 को बाबा बन्दा सिंह बहादुर जी के नेतृत्व में वीर सिक्खों ने मुग़लों को हराया था। यह बुर्ज इसी जीत (पंजाबी भाषा में फ़तेह) के स्मारक के तौर पर बनाया गया है।

Hotel Review: Park Plaza, Jodhpur

Jodhpur, the blue city of Rajasthan, is famous for its various tourist attractions. Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Ummed Bhawan Palace, Mandore Place are to name a few.

तीसरे दिन सुबह सुबह सब जल्दी उठे। आज हमारी दिल्ली वापसी थी। बैग वापस पैक कर लिया गया। सब लोग तैयार हुए और नीचे रेस्टोरेंट में जा कर नाश्ता कर आये। दिन भर के लिए रेंटल वाली टैक्सी भी बुला ली थी। होटल से चेकआउट किया और निकल पड़े। साड़ियों की शॉपिंग कल ही हो चुकी थी। आज बंधेज की सूट खरीदने थे। महेश गौर जी ने जौहरी बाजार जाने की सलाह दी थी। हम लोग जौहरी बाजार जाने से पहले कहीं और भी ट्राई करना चाह रहे थे।

टैक्सी में बैठ कर ड्राइवर को कपड़ों की किसी लोकल मार्किट के बारे में पूछा। वो बोले कि मानसरोवर में कुछ टेक्सटाइल फैक्ट्रियां हैं जिनका एक छोटा सा रिटेल आउटलेट भी होता है। चाहिए तो वहीँ देख सकते हो। मानसरोवर पास ही था। इसलिए उनको वहीँ चलने के लिए बोला। ड्राइवर जी हमें एक टेक्सटाइल फैक्ट्री पर ले गए। ये फैक्ट्री हमारे होटल से कुछ 4 किलोमीटर दूर थी। हम लोग फैक्ट्री के रिटेल आउटलेट में पहुंचे। ये कोई छोटा मोटा नहीं बल्कि बहुत बड़ा शोरूम ही था। कपड़ों की ढेर सारी वैरायटी थी। हमने कुछ कपडे देखे और कीमत पूछी। उन्होंने जो दाम हमें बताया वो जौहरी बाज़ार या बापू बाजार से भी बहुत ज्यादा था। जब मोलभाव करने लगे तो उन्होंने एक दाम कह कर मना कर दिया। इसलिए हम लोग वहाँ से निकल आये।

हवामहल देख कर वापस बाहर आये। दोपहर के साढ़े तीन बज रहे थे। जयपुर में सर्दी का नामोनिशान नहीं था। बैग भर गरम कपडे बेकार ही लाद कर लाये। 

अब हमें थोड़ी खरीदारी करनी थी - बंधेज के सूट और राजस्थानी साड़ियाँ लेनी थीं। पर हम बापू बाजार या जौहरी बाजार नहीं जाना चाहते थे। वहां बहुत जबरदस्त मोलभाव होता है और ख़ास तौर पर अगर कोई पर्यटक हो तो कहना ही क्या । हमलोग ऐसी जगह से खरीदारी करना चाहते थे जहाँ स्थानीय लोग शॉपिंग के लिए जाते हों। इसलिए मैनें अपने स्थानीय मित्र महेश गौर जी को फ़ोन लगाया और इस बारे में उनसे सलाह मांगी। वो बोले कि पहले वो अपने घर से सलाह ले लें। फिर हमें बताएँगे। बात भी सही थी!!

अगले दिन सुबह 6 बजे ही मेरी आँख खुल गयी। मैं चाय ले कर खिड़की के पास बैठ गया और सड़क पर दौड़ती गाड़ियों को देखता रहा। जयपुर एयरपोर्ट बिलकुल पास था। सुबह सुबह विमानों की आवाजाही शुरू हो गयी थी। हवाई जहाज टेक ऑफ कर बाएं या दांये मुड़ जाते। चाय ख़त्म हुई तो मैं भी तैयार होने लगा। आज मुझे एक कांफ्रेंस के लिए निकलना था जहाँ मुझे दोपहर तक काम था । तब तक बाक़ी तीनों लोग होटल में ही रुकने वाले थे।
